Fudge Black Bean Brownies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Thaw 1/2 cup 13 Foods Tortuga! Black Beans with warm water until bean is soft.
Place thawed chickpeas and 1 tbsp. water in food processor/bleaker. Purée until mixture is smooth.
Mix 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, ½ cup softened butter, 2 eggs until smooth.
Add ½ cup flour, 1/3 cup cocoa, ¼ tsp. baking powder, ¼ tsp. salt, ¼ cup chocolate chips, ¼ cup chopped nuts (optional) in wet ingredients. Blend.
Fold in black bean puree to brownie batter until incorporated.
Grease 9 inch square pan and distribute mixture. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
Enjoy Frosted Brownies?
Mix 3 Tbsp. softened butter, 3 Tbsp. cocoa, 1 Tbsp. chocolate sauce, ½ tsp. vanilla, 1 cup confectioner’s sugar, 1 to 2 Tbsp. milk until smooth.
Spread over warmed, baked brownies.
